Butterfly cards from the Shaving Cream technique Class

Image
Hello everyone, I'm back with more class samples featuring the Shaving Cream technique for unique and interesting backgrounds.  I used exactly the same layout for my Easter card which I shared yesterday and gave the ladies who came to class the option of making either card.  Here's a pic of them both. The layout and the cardstock was the same.  Bermuda Bay, Whisper White and Perfect Plum, with some White paper doily and the butterfly one used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper as well.  The Happy Birthday greeting on the butterfly card comes from the male stamp set called Guy Greetings.   New Pool Party ribbon was also added to this card. This is the background I created for the Butterfly card. Here's my butterfly card.  I actually made a similar one in different colours too which I'll show you in a pic below. Here's a closeup of my layered butterfly.  Both Butterfly framelits were used, the Butterfly Thinlits and the Bold Butterfly and one of

Hi Everybody, I'm sharing a card today that was made for a Staff member at the High School my girls attend.  The girls only discussed with me on the weekend that Chappy was moving on to another school.  I only had one night to come up with something, and seeing that I had these colours out already to make another male I decided to use the same materials.  The background on this card was made in the holidays when the girls and I were playing with the Shaving cream technique. The cardstock used here is Basic Black, Whisper White (for the shaving cream background) and Smoky Slate.  I incorporated the Star framelits in this card and the greeting comes from the SAB stamp set called Botanicals for You. I heard that Chappy was very impressed with the card and even held it up in the photograph the local paper took of him on his last day.  My daughter said, "Mum will be so pleased". Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Papercraft Crew Card Sketch Challenge #187

Image
Hello Everyone, Welcome to our Wednesday challenge this week at the Paper Craft Crew.  This sketch below is gorgeous.  I hope you think so too.  We can't wait to see what you create this week. I've combined some old and new here for this 15th Birthday card.  It's for one of my daughter's friends and I've used the Large Number framelits with the Oval dies and vintage Label Love greeting and matching Artisan Label punch.  The patterned papers come from 2 different packs, one was a Specialty Christmas pack with that Silver foil in it and the other was Eastern Elegance designer pack.  The cardstock used is Coastal Cabana (vintage), Basic Black and whisper white. The numbers were cut twice of our Coastal Cabana and Basic black card to create the shadow effect and then they were raised on dimentionals on the Oval.  Here's a closeup. We would love for you to join us this week at the Paper Craft Crew.   See you there.

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge # 40 - Baby Card

Image
Hello Everyone, Happy Tuesday people.  Welcome to this week's challenge at Stamp Ink Paper .   It's a Tic Tac Toe challenge where you choose the line you like for creating your card.   The line I've chosen is Buttons, Congrats and Ribbon or Twine, the third vertical row.  The cardstock I've used is Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla to create a Baby card. The stamp set is vintage called Celebrate Baby for the main image and the greeting, however the banner the greeting is on is from the stamp set Number of Years and is cut out with matching framelits.  The pink buttons are also vintage from my stash. We hope you will join us this week at Stamp Ink Paper  for our Tic Tac Toe challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create.

Long Skinny Butterfly Card with Shaving Cream background

Image
Hello everyone, Making shaving cream backgrounds is a lot of fun.  I made so many of these in the school holidays with my girls and we made more again last weekend at class with the ladies. This card was created with one of our earlier sheets and I used it for my display. The cardstock used was Pool Party, Watermelon Wonder and Basic Black.  I also used border punches, Scallop and Dotted Ribbon on this card.  The background was created with at least 4 reinkers.  Not an easy sheet to replicate or use, the more colours, the busier the background gets.  I am however happy with the finished result here.  The Watermelon and Black butterfly is bold enough to stand out on the background here.  The greeting on this card comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set. Please let me know what you think of this one, and thanks so much for stopping by.

Botanical Builder Make n Take

Image
Hi Everyone, I am just getting back to some regular posting and catching up on some of the cards I made last month for my catalogue launch.  This was one that featured the Botanical Builder bundle.  Come and take a look. This is the reverse side of one of the patterned papers in the Botanical Gardens pack which I've combined on this card with Whisper White thick card for the base, Hello Honey, Pool Party and some retired Bravo Burgundy (just for the flower centre).  I quite like how this turned out with the contrasting Yellow blossom against the Black and White. The greeting comes from the SAB stamp set Sky is the Limit. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Happy Birthday Karree

Hi Everyone, My eldest daughter has turned 17 today and I want to show you the card I made her (with her help).  She actually made the background for this card on a A4 sheet with the Shaving Cream technique when we were first playing .  I've featured the colours on this sheet before as we've chopped it up to make a number of cards already. This one features the Buterfly thinlit dies The cardstock is Blackberry Bliss, Very Vanilla, Mossy Meadow and some Brushed gold from my stash.  The greeting here comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  Reinkers and ink pads used for this card and the background technique were Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. As I said earlier, Karree created thhis background herself and chose these colours so I knew she would like them. Here's her Birthday Cake and the Birthday girl. It's a Caramel Mud cake with Salted Caramel filling and drizzled over the top and shaved white chocolate around the edges of the cake.  Very ri

Hello Everyone, This is a quick card that I made for display at my Catalogue launch last month using Bloomin' Hearts thinlits die.  The cardstock is Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Whisper White and Blushing Bride Glimmer. I've used the Happy Heart embossing folder on my Blushing Bride background. Love that glimmer paper.  It looks fantastic with the die. Hope you all have a great weekend.
