Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 87

Hello from Downunder,

It's Wednesday today and that can only mean one thing.  It's time for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch we have for you this week.

I've chosen to use the stamps Pleasant Poppies and background stamp En Francais for my card.  I've done something a little different today.  I've used the Cracked Glass technique on my main image and I must say I'm really happy with how it's turned out.  Details of how to do this technique are available on Splitcoast Stampers, but essentially you stamp and colour your image as normal, then coat with versamark in and emboss over with Clear embossing powder or utee.  That step is repeated to get a nice thick glossy coating that will crack after its cooled in the freezer.

The cardstock used is Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla with some Brushed gold for the butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.  The Greeting comes from the stamp set Petite Pairs and the black background was embossed with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder.  Have a closer look below.

The patterned paper comes from the pack called Modern Medley.

Here is a closeup to show the technique, Cracked Glass. After cracking you can sponge a little more ink into the cracks to make them appear more visable.  The poppies have been coloured with blender pens and markers.

Thanks so much from coming to see my card today.  We would love to see you at the Paper Craft Crew with a creation of your own this week.
