Male Birthday

Image
Hello Everyone, In my area it's been so dry of late but overnight we've had a wonderful weather change and we're finally receiving some welcome rain.  With that has come some cooler temperatures which is also a relief.   Sunday 1st December is another Birthday for one of our close friends.  He loves his cars. I've used the stamp set Rev Up the fun for his card.  Happy Birthday, Richie.  We hope you have a great day. The cardstock here is Island Indigo, Basic Black, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.  The patterned paper in Island Indigo is from the Sale-a-bration pack from February this year called Sycamore street. The car was coloured with markers with direct to rubber method and it was combined with Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create the road. I've used the Deco Label Framelits for my image and punched the greeting out with the Modern Label punch. Here is the card once again.  Typical boys card I think.  Have a great Saturday enjoying you

Another Suspended Butterfly Easel Card in Wisteria

Image
Hello Everyone, How has your day been?  I would have to say it's been a challenge for me to stay on top of things and I'm finding I have a serious time management problem in trying to prep for tomorrow's class.  A day full of constant (not unpleasant though) interruptions and my order arriving late didn't help.  I need to learn how to say No to people, LOL! Onto today's card.  Remember the Suspended Butterfly Easel card I made.  Due to popularity by request and some customers orders, I'm teaching this card at tomorrow's class.  It's a little fiddly but so worth it, I think.  I changed the colours a bit for this one. The base cardstock this time is Wisteria Wonder, combined with Whisper White, Coastal Cabana and Rose Red.  The window is cut using the Deco Label frame and the flower comes from the set Secret Garden while the butterflies come from the stamp set Papillon Potpourri which also has matching punches.  My background Whisper White card wa

Something Quick using Snowflake Season Kit

Image
Hi Everyone, First of all I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends who are celebrating their day. Now how are you all this Thursday?  I'm great but I'm really quite busy.  It's that time of year at the moment, getting close to the end of our School year and Christmas is just around the corner.  We have school concerts, Graduation, Dance Concert and my final couple of classes these next two weekends. Today I wanted to show something really quick that can be made with our card kits, page 8 of the SU Holiday Catalogue.  There's a kit called Snowflake season, which can be assembled really quickly as an ornament to post.  The recipient can then use it as a decoration pulling it from the base as it's precut. I've added a bit of Cherry Cobbler card to the kit to make a base for this all to be adhered to.  Here it is.   The envelopes come in the kit.  I added some layers to the greeting as well, punching a scalloped circle with the 1 1/4"

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #69

Hello Everyone, Hope you are having a great week so far.  Today is Wednesday which means its time for this week's sketch from the Paper Craft Crew .  I'm using Postage Due for my Design Team card today, stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe and Smoky Slate Inks.  My Cardstock is Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantalogue and Whisper White ink and I've incorporated a greeting from the Hostess Stamp  Simply Sketched. This card also features the 1 " Square punch and Postage Stamp punch . Really love the soft Crisp Cantalogue with the monochromatic greys here.  Hope you will visit the Paper Craft Crew site and see what our other talented designers have made for you.  Would be great to see you enter with a card of your own. Have a fantastic Wednesday.

Paper Players #173 Shaped Card Challenge

Image
Hello Everyone, Shaped cards with the Paper Players ??  I know, right up my alley.  Couldn't wait to play this week and join in with this challenge.  I love making different shaped cards.  They are unique.  The recipient is certainly not going to get two the same. You all know how I love Easel cards, and I have a cousin's birthday on Thursday, so this is what I made him with the Stamp Set Rev Up the Fun. I've created this shaped Easel Card with the Label Framelits and Cardstock of Midnight Muse, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White and a little Winter Frost Specialty paper. This is how the card looks side on. The greeting has been raised up on dimentionals with a punched Artisan Label piece underneath to create the Anchor to stand this easel up.  The point of the label from the card front simply tucks under this.  Here is a closeup of the car image from the set.  This seems to be the go to set at the moment for the males in my life.  There is another birthday coming up

Just Add Ink - #192 Colour challenge

Image
Hello Everyone, How are you today?  I'm a little out of sorts as I'm trying to watermark my photographs with a different system on the laptop, rather than the PC where I usually work, because my husband is home tonight and has taken custody of it, LOL!  You'll have to forgive me that my post is a little late. The latest challenge that I'm joining in with at Just Add Ink this week is a colour challenge. I'm going for CAS with this card here using my favourite Butterfly dies, Beautiful Wings and Beautiful Butterflies layered together. I've used the Tangerine Tango for the base of my card, layering with Whisper White and Island Indigo and using the Window Framelits to cut out the frame through the the Tangerine to sit my butterfly on.  The Island Indigo card has been embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and the greeting comes from the Itty Bitty Banners set. Here is a closer look at the butterfly, finished with some pearls in the centr

Simply Sent

Image
Hello Everyone, How is your Sunday going?  Mine is pretty cruisy. While my eldest daughter is at work I've managed to catch up one some domestic duties so I could play with one of the Simply Sent card kits I have.  This one is called Simply Fabulous from the main catalogue.  The basic kit has the card supplies, die cut fronts, stickers, ribbon, envelope and rhinestones all colour coordinated.  I've added some cardstock to this and put my own twist on the kits.  Rather than purchasing the intended matching stamp set I've used a few of my own namely Backyard Basics, for the cool butterfly which I was just recently reminded of the fact that I don't use this one and the Feel Goods set of quotes. This is the first one. And here is the next one with same supplies and layout, just reversed colours Quick and easy, but so pretty with the pastel colour scheme of Smoky Slate and Pistachio Pudding.  Here are both cards side by side.  Oh, and did you notice that I'

For the Love .......

Image
Hello All, How is your weekend going? Mine had a great start having won the Teams Tournament at our Badminton Christmas party last night which was a lot of fun (for me).  The girls came with, the trade off for me taking them to the Cinema today.   Photo down the bottom of the Winning team prize, an early Christmas present. LOL! I took my girls and their friends along for a treat to see the new Hunger Games Catching Fire movie.  Thrilling and intense was the verdict, and better than the first one, so that's a big call.  We can recommend it, if you were thinking about it.  A great time had by all, including a visit to Macca's afterwards, another treat. On to today's card.  I'm using the new Expressions Thinlits on my card for the first time.  The word being Love.  This could be a card for any occasion, Anniversary, Engagement, for a Lover of Music, or in my case I love Butterflies, so how about I use that theme. LOL! I've used cardstock of Crumb Cake, Ba

Music Teacher Farewell // Paper Players #173 Shaped Card Challenge

Image
Hello Everyone, It's a sad week for my daughter and her friends who have really enjoyed what the music program offered them at the High School this year.  Their very talented teacher will be moving on to a new school and they're having a little party for their last day of the Vocal ensemble practice which was an extra activity that he undertook with the students, as well as teaching them to play all sorts of instruments in lesson times. His speciality though, Guitar!  I have decided to enter this card into the Paper Players Shaped Card Challenge this week.  While not specifically made for the challenge, I think it's a pretty cool shape and fits the criteria.  I also think more people deserve to see this card. When asked to make a card for the group to give him, with that in mind I found some inspiration on Pinterest and came up with this card. The hardest part for me was getting the shaping right, and I had to call on my Artistic daughter to draw the edge as I d

Paper Players CAS Leaves Challenge #172

Image
Hello Everyone, Another sticky day here today in beautiful Queensland, Australia.  What's your weather like? Today I've made a card for the Paper Player's challenge #172 with Nance I've used the single Leaf stamp called Magnificent Maple for this quick card using the Circle Card Thinlit die. This is the first side.  Cardstock used is Early Espresso, Pistashio Pudding and Very Vanilla.  The Leave was stamped in Old Olve ink onto the Pistachio card then punched with the X-large circle punch.  Here is the flip side.  I've actually stamped the same leaf image twice and punched out two of them, so either side of the flipped circle are the same. The patterned paper is from the pack from the last Mini catalogue called Tea for Two.  Now many people have mentioned how there is no room to write inside these cards and I also agree, that is if you intend your message to be private.  However, for the most part, it's very easy to extend your card, or you

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 68

Image
Hello from Downunder, Wednesday means it's time again for another sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew .   This is today's sketch. We hope that you will join us this week.  I thought the sketch was fantastic this week, very versatile.  I put my thinking cap on to come up with this Christmas Card using Santa's List.  I see I wasn't the only member of the Design Team thinking along these lines too, so make sure you check out what the rest of the crew of made. The cardstock is Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake with a little Season of Style paper from the stack in the Holiday Catalogue as the banners. The greeting for this card is from the stamp set called Christmas Messages, also from the Holiday catalogue. Thanks for stopping by today to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card.  We hope that you will play along with this challenge and enter a card of your own this week. Come and join in with our challenge and while y

Baroque Butterfly Love

Image
Hello Everyone, How are you today?  We missed the damage from the storm last night and instead, just got a little rain which was very welcome.  My Tuesday afternoon and evening involves running the girls back & forward to dance classes at different times, so hoping there is no storm tonight.  What's on for your Tuesday? Now for todays card.  I wanted to clean up a few bits and pieces from my desk, which included a gold embossed image of the Beautifully Baroque stamp stamped on some Whisper White card.  It was almost a card in the making and all it really needed was a greeting and something to add to the focal point.  I chose (surprise, surprise) a layered butterfly.  I just love butterflies and this one is made of 2 different dies, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die and Beautiful Wings embosslits die layered together, cut from Pool Party and Raspberry Ripple card.   The base of my card is Island Indigo layered with Whipser White and I've used Raspberry Ripple as an acc

Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge #277

Hello Everyone, How are you all today?  We have been experiencing storms every afternoon, some quite severe.  Goes with the territory as the weather warms up here.  I just hope we don't have more of that damaging Hail like Saturday.  Another storm is coming through now.  I really like the rain it brings, but I hope we don't lose power, so quickly onto today's card. Here is this week's sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary Today I'm using the Hostess Stamp Set Warmth & Wonder for my card.  I've only used the one image stamped in Early Espresso Ink and punched with the X-large Oval punch and layered onto a Cherry Cobbler piece of card cut with the Label Framelits and embossed with the Designer Frames Mini embossing folder.  The other strip of Cherry Cobbler card has been embossed with the Mosaic embossing folder.  The card is set on a base of Early Espresso Cardstock.
