Create with Connie and Mary 249

Image
Hello Everyone, It's a sketch challenge this time at Create with Connie and Mary  I really love the sketch this week, with it's topsy turvy layered layout seen here.  Today I'm using the Dress up and Oval Collection framelits on my card, along with some Natural Composition and Fan Fair Dsp.  The cardstock used is Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. Thanks very much for stopping by for a look and for leaving your comments.  I really appreciate them.  Have a great day.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 163 - Take 2

Image
Hi Everyone, Well it's official.  I have to admit a have an addiction.  The first step is admitting it, right?  My addiction is Ribbon.  I seem to collect it and it accumulates far quicker than I can ever use it up.  It's a difficult habit to kick, and I must force myself to use some up as storage of it has become an issue. I created the background of this card behind the Floral Framelits Window with some ribbon strips, in an effort to start using a little more, before I start collecting once again from the new catalogue when it starts in July.  I'm entering this card in the Just Add Ink Fun Background challenge this week.  You should pop over and take a look at all the entries this week.  Some are out of this world, amazing. Here is my card.  I think what was to be a fun background has really turned into more of a feature on my card.  The cardstock is Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight and Rose Red.  I've used Floral Framelits, Me

Freshly Made Sketches #83

Image
Hello Everyone, There is a great sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches I love the simplicity of this sketch.  Here is the card I've made using a combination of SU products and a 3D flower that has been sitting in my stash assembled I would estimate for about 2 years, as I remember the class I taught with those, when I used to work in a few Scrapbooking stores some years back.  It is such a realistic looking flower, like a photograph and I like it, even though I'm not a Yellow Person.  I'm making an effort to go back through my stash of older products and start using them up.  The Dsp here is from a pack called Beyond the Garden.  I've used cardstock of Basic Gray, So Saffron and Basic Black, and a little Lace Tape.  The Greeting is stamped with Basic Gray ink from the set Blooming with Kindness.  The So Saffron card was embossed with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder. This wasn't the card I originally planned to make, thought I would try so

Just Add Ink challenge 163

Hi Everyone, The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is to Just Add a Fun Background and the design team have some fantastic samples for inspiration.  This week I wanted to use a background of pretty butterflies.  Some are stamped and some are little diecuts using the Beautiful Wings die which I've adhered over the stamped card, then put through the Square Lattice Embossing folder for the Inlaid Embossing technique. These butterflies are a little busier than my usual style but I hope you think this is a fun background with my butterflies flying off in all different directions.  Here's a closeup  The stamps used are Bloomin' Marvellous from SAB, Elegant Eleanor for the flourish and Curly Cute for the Greeting.  Cardstock is Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.  Inks used are Melon Mambo, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight  I think this card will be suitable for a young person, probably one of my daughters

Double Floral Easel Cards

Image
Hi Everyone, I wanted to share with you another special Easel Card that I've made, especially for Mothers Day using the Floral Framelits that match the Medallion stamps.  I'm trying it out in a few different colours, mainly pink shades for Mum because I have some beautiful Decorative pins (or brooches) I'm adding that My Husband bought me online (by mistake) thinking that they were Earrings.  I'm glad they aren't actually, because they would be a bit heavy, and it was a bulk pack so I've come up with a card to use them on and my class ladies will benefit too. This is called a Double Easel, different to the double easels I've made in the past for Christmas Cards. The larger frame is supported upright by the smaller mini easel in the front.  In essence it's actually made as 2 separate easels which are joined together - large and small.  The smaller one also needs an anchor to sit up and this is where my little pink pin has come in handy.  Here is

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #39

Image
Hello Everyone, As its Wednesday, its time to welcome you back for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge which is a Mother's Day Theme.  I really love this versatile sketch Pam gave us to work with this week.  I've already made 2 cards with it, and hope to use it again.  I would love to see more of you join in with our challenge and can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.  Pop on over to see some inspiration from the Design Team at the Paper Craft Crew. Both of my cards featured here use Blooming with Kindness, Well Scripted (retired) stamps, Lots of Tags die, Oval punch and Fan Fair Designer Series Papers.  This is the Not Quite Navy version After I stamped the bloom, I sponged it with more of the same ink using a circular motion, but that's not all. Can you see the sparkle from the Shimmer mist on the Bloom image?  Its made by mixing Rubbing Alcohol with some shimmer paint into a spray mister. I've added some mor

Paper Players Challenge 142

Hello Everyone, I'm back with another challenge, this time with the Paper Players  and Jaydee. This time it's to make a One Layer Card, which you may think is simple, but for me I find them quite a challenge as I love layers. Here is my card using French Foliage and Perfectly Penned stamps.  Just Whisper White Card, Ink with sponging and stamping. I've masked a panel and sponged with Pear Pizzazz and Island Indigo Inks, then stamped the script from French Foliage set with Island Indigo.  Removed the mask and stamped Soft Suede & Pear Pizzazz for leaves and splatter and the Greeting and postmark with Island Indigo.  Simple and effective. After my success last week, I was keen to play again, even though this style is way out of my comfort zone.  Thanks for looking.  I hope you like todays card.

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 248

Hello Everyone, It's a colour challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary Here are the challenge colours These are currently In Colours that will be remaining for another 12 months once the new Stampin Up catalogue is launched, so I still have some card in these colours. Today I've used the Hostess stamp set called Millon Dollar moments for this Top Notes Easel card. I've used an interesting new technique on my background for the stamped image called Rainbow Block technique, where you take a large acrylic block and colour it with markers, spray it with water and stamp it onto the Very Vanilla card. I used just the 2 colours on the background - Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit.   Once dry you can stamp over it and cut or adhere it to the card.  This is the full view from the front of the Top Notes Easel Card.  My greeting is from the retired Stamp Set Well Scripted.  I still like to use it from time to time and I've layered it with one of t

Just Add Ink #162 - Just Add a New Technique

Image
Hello Everyone, This week at Just Add Ink , the challenge is to try a technique you haven't used before.  Well there were a few on my list to try, including Block Stamping, but I came across a new one on Pinterest today which was an adaption of that - "Rainbow Block stamping".  See this on Stamp with Sandy , by Sandy Fleming, to view this cool technique. So here is my card made using this technique to create a colourful background. I've used the Papillon Potpourri stamp set to stamp butterflies directly onto the background with Black Stazon Ink.  Oval Framelits were used to cut an oval out of the centre of a Basic Black cut Top Notes diecut to frame the images and this was layered on a card base of Basic Black and Summer Starfruit embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  The greeting was cut with the Ticket punch.  It's just to simple card to highlight the technique. Here is a closeup This was the sheet, before I stamped and framed it. (This

Hello Everyone, It's Colour challenge week this week from Anne Marie at the Paper Players and I really like this combination of colours here:- I love these colours so much that I wanted to play again, not for any particular reason, Just Because.....   I could. Here is my card I've made a Mother's Day Card using Artisitc Etchings, En Francais and the Artisan Embellishment kit, along with Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and Beautiful Wings die. Thanks for popping by to view my card.  Have a fantastic day.

For Purple Lovers everywhere

Image
Hi Everyone, I wanted to share a special card I made.  It's for a 21st Birthday which the mother of the young lady asked me to make.  She loves purple. Now at the risk of being shot down in flames, I want to warn you in advance that the Dsp used on my card is non SU and I won't mention the brand name.  However in my opinion, SU need a range of dsp among their collections to go with all the colours in their Families and there is nothing that currently goes with Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant or Perfect Plum.  All colours need to be catered for, because there are plenty of Purple lovers out there.  I'm hoping with Colour Refresh and our upcoming new catalogue, this will be rectified. This is an Easel card and I've used Elegant Eggplant for my base, with Whisper White and a little Wisteria Wonder on it.  I've also used a Coloured Pin (jewellery) on the bow, which can be removed and worn by the recipient, if they so wish. The stamps I've used are Memor

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #38 & The Paper Players 141 Colour challenge

Hello Everyone, Happy Wednesday everyone.  Today here on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia it's quite 'hot and muggy' at the moment.  We're expecting more storms later today and rain for later in the week.  Today I'm doing 2 for one, ie 2 Challenge sites with one card I've created as my Design Team sample and also to play along in The Paper Players Colour challenge.  This is The Paper Craft Crew  sketch below. I've pulled out my Apothecary Art stamp set for this card and combined it with Papillon Potpourri set with the co-ordinating Butterfly punches.  The other accents have been made with the Delicate Doilies die and Hearts a Flutter Framelits. I've coloured my Apothecary image with Markers and Blender pens over Whisper White Card stamped with Stazon Black Ink. I'm combining my card with the Colour Challenge this week at The Paper Players using the colour combination below. Thanks for taking the time to
